September 25th 2021 Zine Making Workshop
Time & Location
About the Event
In this workshop you will learn about the history of zines and the subculture as it stands today which will inform the development of your own zines.
You will learn three construction methods:
- A simple folding technique that produces a nifty little A7 zine.
- A method that utilises the long-arm stapler to produce larger zines with more pages.
- A simple book-binding technique using an awl and thread.
The price of the £12 ticket includes a general zine making kit for you to keep! We have all the craft materials and tools needed to create zines (including a Pooli printer!!) but we encourage you to bring along your own stickers/magazines/craft paper to contribute to your own personal publication.
You can also choose a Pay As You Feel ticket and donate what you'd like (if you want to! No pressure we just want you there! <3). These tickets do not include a zine making kit, though </3
The session will encourage an informal yet respectful discourse around subcultures/topics/themes involved with zine making and distribution. Please read our code of conduct and familiarise yourself with it.
Every ticket sold is supporting the upkeep of the collection, including our website - we greatly appreciate it!
If you have any questions please get in touch!
Access requirements: there is no step-free access to the mezzanine at The Mill. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements and we will see what we can do!
